The indoor Vietnam Traveling Wall with other era panels will be exhibited in the Waxahachie Civic Center, ballrooms 3 & 4, from 7-9 November 2024.
With all that we do, we strive to honor all veterans of all military branches, throughout all eras of conflict. This exhibit will help honor our Vietnam Veterans who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country. This will hopefully help our Vietnam Veterans feel comforted in knowing their friends continue to live on with this great tribute.
The memorial, with its black granite wall inscribed with over 58,000 names, honors the American service members who died in the conflict or went missing in action. It serves as a place of reflection, healing, and recognition of the sacrifices made by those who served, offering a somber and poignant reminder of the cost of war.
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall was dedicated on Veterans Day in 1982, fulfilling one veteran’s promise to never forget those who served and sacrificed during the Vietnam War.
The exhibit will be on display from Thursday, 7 November to Saturday, 9 November.
The Wall will be brought in from Bullard, Texas. It will briefly stop in Ennis at the Ennis Veterans Memorial before being escorted to the Waxahachie Civic Center for setup. The Wall should arrive at the Ennis Veterans Memorial by 10:00 am and we are expecting to depart by 10:30 am. Anyone and everyone is invited to participate in this movement.
An opening ceremony will be conducted at the Wall in the Waxahachie Civic Center at 2:00 pm on Thursday, 7 November, 2024. The exhibit will be open for the day once this ceremony is concluded. Everyone is encouraged to attend this ceremony.
The open hours of the exhibit will be finalized very soon and will be posted here once they are announced. Please check back soon!
